Five Years of Carrying on the Schofield Brothers Legacy
Five Years of Carrying on the Schofield Brothers Legacy
At DGT Associates, we trace our history back more than 140 years, and across the work and innovations of many of the region’s most important surveying and engineering firms. Today, we remember and honor the legacy of Schofield Brothers. Five years ago, we acquired Schofield Brothers and established DGT’s Framingham office, with continuity of service assured by the long-time Schofield staff.
Before joining DGT, Schofield Brothers had an 81-year legacy history as one of the New England region’s premier engineering firms. In 1937, the four Schofield Brothers established their surveying firm in Framingham. At that time, they tackled a variety of projects to support Framingham’s beginnings as a bustling and thriving Boston suburb.
By 1987, Schofield had expanded to eight offices across New England with more than 160 employees and in 1992, renamed itself to Schofield Brothers of New England to reflect its regional growth. In the 2000s, Schofield acquired Sullivan Surveying and continued to grow its reputation under the DGT banner.
Schofield officially joined the DGT family in 2015, and in 2018, we fully integrated our teams. Today, the DGT Framingham office carries on the Schofield legacy through its work on small to large scale projects for a wide variety of clients and partners, including architects, attorneys, homeowners, commercial developers, municipalities, hospitals, and private and public schools. Just like Schofield, we are known for providing quality work, concentrating in the areas of site design, stormwater management, drainage design, and onsite sewage disposal system design.
We are grateful that Schofield joined DGT, and we honor and build upon the heritage of all of our legacy brands in everything we do today and in the future.
