Mike Twohig, our Project Director for Subsurface Mapping, is quoted in the June/July 2019 edition of American Locator Magazine.
Mike is quoted in an article titled “Beyond the 811 Ticket – Locating Utilities During Excavation.” The article looks at the importance of a comprehensive approach to damage prevention during excavation projects, as it is vital to worker and public safety.
“First, I would never begin digging a test hole on paint marked by others, as it may be a waste of time or an empty hole,” Mike says in the article. “I always like to get a confirmation during the excavation process. If the depth indication is not consistent then it tells me there is the possibility of signal interference and/or the presence of unknown utilities.”
